RETIREMENT CAN BE A NEW BEGINNING

WHAT IF YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 67 TO START ENJOYING YOUR LIFE?

What if your next chapter could begin at 40?

An older couple sit together beneath a tree, smiling as the man points into the distance.
  • Imagine waking up to sunshine.
  • Having breakfast outside.
  • Walking along the beach.
  • Enjoying a slower morning.
  • Travelling whenever you want.
  • Spending more time with the people you love.

And knowing that you haven’t retired from life…
You’ve simply chosen a different way to live it.

Welcome to HALIGI.

Helping you discover whether the Philippines could become the home of your next chapter.

YOU’VE WORKED HARD FOR THIS.

You built your career.

You raised your family.

You paid the bills.

You made sacrifices.

You saved for the future.

And somewhere along the way, you were told that the reward comes later.

When you’re 60.

When you’re 65.

When the mortgage is paid.

When everything is finally “sorted”.

But what if later doesn’t have to mean that long?

What if you could start creating a different life at 40?

Or 50?

Or simply when you decide that you’re ready?

The Philippines could offer a completely different rhythm of life — warm weather, beautiful surroundings, vibrant communities, travel opportunities and the freedom to explore a new way of living.

Your future doesn’t have to start someday.

It can start NOW with a decision to explore what’s possible.

Life in the Philippines collage with beaches, island scenery, social gatherings, city living, food and outdoor activities around a central circle.

ANOTHER WINTER IS COMING.

The days are getting shorter. The temperature is dropping. The heating will go back on. The winter wardrobe comes out. And the cost of keeping a home warm is once again on people’s minds.

At the same time, the cost of everyday life continues to put pressure on household budgets.

UK consumer prices rose 3.1% in the year to August 2026, while average private rents increased by 3.8% over the same period. (Office for National Statistics)

And energy prices remain a particular concern as we head into another winter.

A winter comparison: a woman beside a cold window and household bills on the left; a couple enjoying sunshine beside Philippine waters on the right.

But perhaps the bigger question isn’t:

“How much will next winter cost me?”

Perhaps it’s:

“Do I really want to spend another winter living the same life?”

Imagine replacing dark mornings with sunshine.

Cold evenings with warm ones.

Heating bills with outdoor living.

And weekends spent escaping the weather with a life where the weather is part of the reason you stayed.

You don’t have to make a decision today.

But you can start exploring your options today.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO SAY GOODBYE TO HOME.

Moving your life to another country doesn’t have to mean turning your back on the country you came from.

You can have both.

A home in the Philippines.

And family, friends and connections back home.

You can travel.

You can return.

You can visit family.

You can spend time back in your home country.

And then…

You can return to the Philippines.

A complete two-home illustration pairing Philippine island living with a family reunion in Britain, linked by a plane and return arrows, with a strip of travel and connection icons below.

The current SRRV programme provides multiple-entry privileges and indefinite stay for qualifying holders, subject to the programme’s current rules. (Philippine Retirement Authority)

So your decision doesn’t have to be:

“Britain OR the Philippines.”

It can be:

“How could I make the best of both?”

That could mean spending more of the year somewhere warm while still returning home when you want to.

It could mean having somewhere to escape to during the coldest months.

It could mean making the Philippines your primary home while maintaining your connections elsewhere.

Freedom doesn’t mean being trapped in one place.

Freedom means having choices.

A different timetable

WHY WAIT UNTIL 67?

We have become accustomed to thinking of retirement as something that happens in our sixties. But life doesn’t have to follow one timetable.

Under the current Philippine Retirement Authority programme, principal SRRV applicants can be 40 years old or above, with different requirements depending on the applicable SRRV option. Philippine Retirement Authority

That means your 40s or 50s could be the beginning of a completely different chapter.

Not necessarily a life of doing nothing.

Quite the opposite. You could…

  • Work
  • Run a business
  • Travel
  • Invest
  • Explore Asia
  • Spend more time with your family
  • Pursue interests you’ve postponed
  • Enjoy more freedom over your days

Retirement doesn’t have to mean stopping. It can mean choosing.

Life at your own pace

IMAGINE YOUR ORDINARY TUESDAY.

Not your holiday. Not a two-week escape.
Your ordinary Tuesday.

Peaceful tropical terrace overlooking green fields and mountains in the Philippines.
Time to linger. A slower, brighter everyday.
  1. 01 / MORNING

    Wake up to sunlight.

You open the doors. There’s no rush. Coffee outside. A swim. A walk. Breakfast somewhere beautiful.

  2. 02 / AFTERNOON

    Let the day unfold.

Perhaps a few hours of work. Perhaps none. Lunch with friends. An afternoon exploring somewhere new.

  3. 03 / EVENING

    A sunset. Dinner outside.

And tomorrow? You can do something completely different.

This isn’t about escaping your life. It’s about creating a life you don’t constantly need to escape from.

Room for every question

WHAT’S STOPPING YOU?

Perhaps you’ve thought about living abroad for years. But something always gets in the way.

  • “What about my visa?”
  • “What about healthcare?”
  • “Where would I live?”
  • “What would it actually cost?”
  • “What about my family?”
  • “What if I don’t like it?”
  • “How would I even begin?”

These are completely reasonable questions.

You don’t need to have all the answers before you start. That’s exactly why HALIGI exists.

We help you understand the possibilities, explore the practicalities and decide whether life in the Philippines could genuinely work for you.

Your personal guide to life in the Philippines

Moving to another country is a big decision. It starts with questions — about where to live, how life will feel, what it will cost, healthcare, visas, family and what your next chapter could really look like.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know before you take the
next step

Do I have to be 50 to apply?

No. The current SRRV programme allows eligible principal applicants from 40 years old, depending on the SRRV category and applicable requirements.

Do I have to be officially retired?

No. You do not necessarily have to have stopped working. Eligibility depends on your age, circumstances and the SRRV category that applies to you.

Can my spouse or children come with me?

Yes. A legally married spouse and unmarried dependent children under 21 may be included, subject to the applicable requirements.

How much money do I need?

The required visa deposit depends on your age, pension status and SRRV category. Current requirements vary between as little as USD 15,000 and up to USD 50,000 for the SRRV Classic.

What does the SRRV cost?

There are application, visa deposit and annual fees, with the amounts depending on your SRRV category and family circumstances.

Can I work or run a business?

The SRRV provides certain work-related privileges, but specific employment or business arrangements may have additional requirements. These should be confirmed for your circumstances.

Can I travel back and forth between the Philippines and my home country?

Yes. The SRRV is a multiple-entry, indefinite-stay visa, allowing holders to travel internationally while maintaining their SRRV status, subject to the applicable rules.

Where should I live?

That depends on the life you want to create. From vibrant cities and cooler mountain areas to coastal communities and islands, the Philippines offers very different lifestyles to explore.

What is the cost of living?

It depends on where you live and the lifestyle you choose. Housing, healthcare, transport, dining and travel can all make a significant difference to your monthly budget.

What about healthcare?

The Philippines has a wide range of public and private healthcare options. When choosing where to live, we recommend considering the quality and accessibility of healthcare in your preferred location.

Can I try life in the Philippines before making a decision?

Absolutely. Spending time in the Philippines before making a long-term commitment can help you experience different locations and decide what feels right for you.

What happens when I contact HALIGI?
